INMM delivers a Biovan to CRI for transporting asymptomatic positive patients in high biocontainment
IN MM spent three days in Sardinia together with the Italian Red Cross taking part in an’exercise whose objective was to simulate operational scenarios in CBRN (chemical, bacteriological, radioactive and nuclear) contexts.
More than 400 volunteers from all over Italy participated in the exercise to prepare themselves in responding in case of actual need, also having the opportunity to field test their current level of preparedness through the evaluation of the timing and effectiveness of intervention.
IN MM è been involved in order to train operators in the’use of the’equipment implemented over the years by the Red Cross, including a’wide range of biocontainment devices such as chambers and stretchers but also entire vehicles set up to support the response in case of biological threats.
The’Company è supplier to CRI since 2015, especially developing for the’Association biocontainment solutions for the vehicles it equips, which are designed to assist the’evacuation of all those patients considered infected or suspected to be so.
This line of vehicles allows the Red Cross to transport patients to the nearest treatment and care facility while reducing the risk associated with the possibility of spreading infected substances.
High biocontainment vehicles are designed to meet multiple needs, being able to transport from 1 up to 50 isolated patients depending on the type of vehicle set up, while also protecting the driver and crew, who will be operating in a separate area.
Thanks to the’aid of new technologies, è a system has also been introduced that can monitor the environmental and operating parameters present inside the vehicle, ensuring that operators can constantly check the operational status of the biocontainment chamber and, if necessary, be alerted through alarms in the event of breakdowns or malfunctions.
